Introduction to Kanban - Kanban is a system of delivering what is needed in a process, when it is needed. Kanban is a term that has become synonymous with "demand scheduling" or "Just In Time manufacturing" (JIT).

Kanban uses visual indicators, usually called Kanban Cards, that allow those involved in a process to know when and how much product to produce. Kanban generally extends throughout an organization and, in many cases, to vendors, suppliers and customers.
